Bathing with a mountain view
A refreshing trip to the Völser Weiher
A hot summer day in the mountains. The Dolomite peaks shimmer above – and framed by meadows and forests, a bathing lake glitters in the sun, promising welcome refreshment. There are only eight large lakes suitable for bathing in South Tyrol. And you will find one of them, but not just any one, very close to Tiers. The Völser Weiher below the Schlern is considered one of the most beautiful bathing lakes in all of Italy. It was awarded by the environmental protection organisation Legambiente in 2015 as one of the most exemplary ecosystems in the country. These are many good reasons to make one or more trips to the Völser Weiher during your holiday.
Pleasantly tempered Swimming, rowing in a rowboat or sunbathing – you can relax wonderfully with the whole family in the Völser Weiher: Unlike our cold mountain lakes, you can expect pleasant water temperatures of around 22°C. By car, you drive to Völs am Schlern and from there on towards Seis. After approx. 1 km, turn right to the lake car park. Of course, you can also combine a refreshing swim with a hike on the Schlern.
